The World of 'Scavengers'

Usually the citizens call themselves Magnus as a patriotic ego-boost. Therefore a Magnoran man calls himself Magnus and a Magnoran woman calls herself a Magna woman.
-HISTORY:
Emperor Imperiosus is responsible for subduing the once-independent country of Candidora, making it a Magnoran province on March 30, 1445. On December, 2 1447, fearing a hostile Magnoran invasion, Ves Uxa “peacefully” assimilated with Magnora, also becoming a Magnoran province. Disagreeing with the imperial ways of their homeland, the people of the hilly regions of Magnora revolted against the empire, causing a civil war that began on February 23, 1450 and ended on August 21, 1472 after Emperor Imperiosus dies and is replaced by his son, Emperor Lepidus (born on May 31, 1437). Emperor Imperiosus spent the last twenty-two years of his life warring with the people of what he called the Inculterra.
The foreign policy of Magnora greatly changed when Emperor Lepidus came to the throne. War with the Inculterra stopped immediately and the Inculterra gained independence .Emperor Lepidus and Empress Laelia were known for their frequent diplomatic visits to not only the new provinces of Magnora, but to other neighboring countries, thus maintaining the peace. They welcomed their first child, Curtia, on June 12, 1478. However, Empress Laelia died shortly afterward. Emperor Lepidus, grief-stricken, vows never to remarry in honor of his wife, and buries her in her favorite hillside in Nasen with permission from the government. He is constantly depressed and perhaps mentally unstable from this point on.
Curtia is meant to be heir, however Emperor Lepidus noted some very destructive and sinister tendencies in his daughter that was not befitting of a ruler. This (and pressure from the Senate for a male heir) led Emperor Lepidus to the conclusion that he needed a different heir. Because he couldn’t remarry, though, he couldn’t have a son. Therefore, he adopts a 5-year-old boy from the then-dissolving Arrius gens on November 26, 1491, who was called Lepidus II. Lepidus II replaces Curtia as heir to the throne. Jealous, Curtia tries to murder her adopted brother in December of the same year and fails. Curtia is put on trial by the Senate and just before she could be found guilty, she leaps from a palace wall into a moat, fully bound, to her apparent death. Her body was never found.
In 1511, Nasen began extensive building project on the same hillside that Empress Laelia was buried in. Emperor Lepidus demands that they honor his wife’s resting place, but the Nasen government disregards him. Outraged, Emperor Lepidus stages a swift invasion in 1513 and effectively conquers Nasen. He dies later that year and is succeeded by Emperor Lepidus II.

-HISTORY:
Inculterra is the hilly regions that were previously part of Magnora. They split from Magnora in 1472 after a 22-year war.


VES UXA - Named for founder, Ves Ux
